Prices

Metals are traded on the commodity market. Prices can be volatile and are subject to change at any time. The Scrap Metal App does not take responsibility for any difference in price between those advertised on The Scrap Metal App, and live prices given at scrap metal yards or with scrap metal dealers.

Vehicles

Scrap cars and other vehicles must be taken to a licenced End of Life Vehicle (ELV) licenced facility. The DVLA must be informed that your vehicle has be scrapped. The Scrap Metal App does not take responsibility for the DVLA not being notified. Payment is cashless. Remember to have photographic ID and proof of address. We advise using a driving licence. By law in the UK, scrap metal dealers are unable to pay for metals with cash. You will receive a cheque or electronic payment. Please call your local scrap dealer for payment advice.

The law!

Scrap metal dealers may refuse to take your disposal or collection of metals or vehicle if believed to be involved in metal theft any other illegal activity. Scrap metal dealers in the UK must adhere to The Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013.
